Seven marine algae. Your everyday skin shield.

Seven marine algae. Your everyday skin shield.

Your skin faces more than just the changing seasons. Cold air, indoor heating and everyday pollution are all part of daily life.

The Wakey Protective Emulsion combines seven marine algae with jojoba oil and algae-derived astaxanthin in a lightweight, fragrance-free formula. It hydrates, softens and helps support your skin against everyday environmental stresses.

A little extra care, without the heavy feel of a rich cream.

Why it has a place in The Morning Skin Set

I want to explain what this step adds, rather than suggest everyone needs another bottle.

For me, the appeal is its combination of lightweight hydration and a marine algae complex that helps shield skin against pollution, cold and dry air.

In our routine, the emulsion adds lightweight hydration and the protective role of the marine algae complex. The Locking Cream follows with additional nourishment and care against dryness.

They complement each other, but neither product needs the other to do its job.

My kind of morning layer

Think of a typical morning: you step outside into the cold, then spend the next few hours in a heated room. Your skin comes along for all of it.

I like skincare that feels comfortable without being too heavy. That's what appealed to me about this emulsion: a light texture, no added fragrance and a marine algae complex with a clear purpose.

It's the kind of product I wanted to include for people who enjoy lightweight skincare but still want a little extra care in their daily routine.

What's inside this little shield?

The formula contains 99.92% ingredients of natural origin and is fragrance free.

Seven marine algae

The marine algae complex supports hydration and the skin's natural protective mechanisms. The manufacturer describes it as forming a film that helps shield skin against pollution, cold and dry air.

Algae-derived astaxanthin

This antioxidant gives the emulsion its orange colour and supports hydration and skin protection.

Cold-pressed jojoba oil

Jojoba oil helps nourish the skin and supports a soft, comfortable feel.

Serum, emulsion or moisturiser?

Skincare can sometimes feel like it comes with its own dictionary. So here's a simple way to understand the difference.

A serum usually describes a targeted skincare product. It might focus on hydration, uneven skin tone or fine lines. Its purpose depends on the formula.

An emulsion describes a blend of water and oils. Many creams are emulsions too. In the Wakey Protective Emulsion, this creates a lightweight texture that hydrates and nourishes.

A moisturiser describes the job: helping keep skin hydrated, soft and comfortable. An emulsion can do that job too.

So no, an emulsion isn't automatically an extra step everyone needs. It depends on the formula, the texture you enjoy and what your skin needs.

How to use a face emulsion

Apply a small amount to cleansed face and neck. Gently smooth it in until absorbed.

In The Morning Skin Set, use it after the Hydrating Toner and before the Locking Cream.

The Protective Emulsion is not a sunscreen and does not replace SPF. Use a separate sunscreen for daytime sun protection.

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.

A few good questions

What does a face emulsion do?

A face emulsion is a blend of water and oils. The Wakey Protective Emulsion has a lightweight texture that hydrates and softens skin, with a marine algae complex that helps support the skin against everyday environmental stresses.

Is an emulsion the same as a moisturiser?

Not exactly. Emulsion describes the formula and texture, while moisturiser describes its purpose. An emulsion can also provide moisturising care.

Why use an emulsion instead of a cream?

If you prefer a lighter texture, an emulsion can be a lovely alternative. The Wakey Protective Emulsion offers lightweight hydration and care without the richer feel of a cream.

Does the Protective Emulsion contain fragrance or SPF?

No. It is fragrance free and does not contain SPF. Use a separate sunscreen for daytime sun protection.
